I'm seeing a lot of glitches when using a Radeon 9200 (RV280) or Radeon 9600 (RV350 AQ) card with a ViewSonic VP201b TFT monitor at 1600x1200x60Hz. ATI has noted this as item #3992 in their infobase, and have added a workaround to the Catalyst 02.3 Driver "Reduce DVI frequency on high-resolution displays". Is it possible to implement the same workaround in the Xorg radeon driver? I've done a quick diff between the Fedora Core 2 source for xorg-x11-6.7.0-5 that I'm using and the head of the xorg CVS tree, and did not see any obvious changes related to the DVI frequency. The new option "DynamicClocks" seem to only affect the on-chip clocks and not the DVI frequency. This bug may be related to bug #724.

(In reply to comment #0) This bug is not exactly the duplicate of the bug 724 that I posted. In my case the problems were apparent on lower resolutions and ATI workaround had a very little effect on the image quality. Nowadays I have Radeon 9600 board (from Asus) in exactly the same setup and it has no problems at all (so the problem is in the hardware, presumably).
Well, I only see this problem at high resolutions. I have implemented a workaround, but it involves disabling part of the radeon driver and adding ModeLine. You can read more at http://suif.stanford.edu/~csapuntz/rv280-linux-dvi.html
