Description Duncan Innes 2015-02-18 12:21:47 UTC
Is there scope for the hostnamectl command being expanded to allow custom fields & data to be stored in /etc/machine-info

e.g.

[root@machine1 ~]# hostnamectl set-custom PROJECT="Website"
[root@machine1 ~]# cat /etc/machine-info
PROJECT=Website
[root@machine1 ~]#

This would allow custom data to be applied in the /etc/machine-info file for use by various applications on the server.
