I am filing this upstream per advice I got when I filed it against Fedora version of udisks: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1140791 Briefly, udisks uses libatasmart which has faulty SMART attribute mapping. libatasmart development has stalled (last commits in 2012) so the question is whether to improve it or consider the alternatives such as smartmontools, which have a mechanism to handle device-specific parameter mapping.
