Created attachment 81474 [details] Log of what happens when running apt-get dist-upgrade on my Ubuntu machine running LO 4.1.0.1rc Problem description: I like to run the latest LO from your official packages, thus overriding Ubuntu's packages. Usually I remove the official ones, then install yours, and everything goes fine. But here, something in your packaging makes apt-get want to "upgrade" 4.1.0.1rc into 4.0.2ubuntu. Steps to reproduce: 1. Under Ubuntu 13.04 x86_64, 2. Install LO 4.1.0.1rc using the x86_64 deb package 3. Upgrade your Ubuntu (either with a gui, or with `sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade` Current behavior: Ubuntu wants to "upgrade" 4.1.0.1rc with 4.0.2 See attached log Expected behavior: No LO-related upgrade should happen Operating System: Ubuntu Version: 4.1.0.1 rc Last worked in: 4.0.4.2 release
Also, here is the apt policy: ronj@l:~$ apt-cache policy libreoffice libreoffice: Installed: 4.1.0 Candidate: 1:4.0.2-0ubuntu1 Version table: 1:4.0.2-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ raring/universe amd64 Packages *** 4.1.0 0 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
Here is some context from an IRC discussion that I'm pastebin-ing with vilpan's approval: http://pastebin.com/nVbSwQ1y
Bjoern - looks like an issue with Ubuntu's repo here.
As a Ubuntu user, dont use TDF builds, use the PPA at: https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/libreoffice-prereleases/+packages Otherwise, be fully aware that you will need to manually need to remove packages from one source, before installing the other.
OK. Sad that it used to work and no longer works, but since there is a PPA everything should be fine. Thanks for the fast feedback :)
