In Cygwin/X and Xming the hardware cursor has a habit of disappearing. A 'Show 
Cursor' quick fix was added to the toolbar menu as a work around in the distant 
past.

Fix for the problem

The patch is equally applicable to the old monolithic and new modular xwin
code.
