Description Viktor 2013-02-21 19:14:55 UTC
Problem description:
When text is cut from cell when editing (F2), LibreOffice doesn't react (freeze) for several seconds. I'm using Win7 x64.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Write some text to any cell in Calc and click ENTER to confirm it.
2. Click F2 to edit content of cell.
3. Select part of text in cell.
4. Click CTRL X and LibreOffice doesn't react.

Current behavior:
After clicking CTRL X, Calc freezes for several seconds.

Expected behavior:
Cut should work immediatelly.
Operating System: Windows 7
Version: 4.0.0.3 release
Last worked in: 3.5.7.2 release

Hi Viktor, thanks for reporting.
I cannot see this issue.
Win7x64 Ultimate.
Version 4.0.0.3 (Build ID: 7545bee9c2a0782548772a21bc84a9dcc583b89)

Have you tried to reset the user profile?. Sometimes solve strange issues.

Thank you for reporting this bug,
I can't reproduce this bug running LibreOffice 4.0.1.1 rc on Mac osx 10.6.8.

Hi,

I'm using Win 7 x64 Pro. Also Avast as antivirus and Zonealarm as firewall.
The problem occurs only if F2 is pressed, not cutting cell as unit.

Thanks for your feedback Viktor. Please don't respond to the mail you get, but by browsing to this bug (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61247) and leave a comment there.

I can't reproduce this behavior either, so is it possible to attach a test file with which you can reproduce this behavior?

Kind regards,
Joren

Hello,

let me sumarize this once more. Installation of LibreOffice 4 was done first time (I have even deleted profile for LibreOffice 3 before, even there are different folders for them). On another computer, there was no LibreOffice before at all.

I just created new Calc file and inserted text to random cell. Then I press following keys, while positioned on that cell:
F2
CTRL A
CTRL X

After that it takes about 6 seconds till selected text disappear and I can continue working.

This problem appears since version 3.6 already, in 3.5 it was not a problem.

Sorry about that, but I still can't reproduce.

Therefore I mark this bug as bug version 3.6.0.4 release.

@Viktor: is it possible to reset your user profile (https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Resetting_the_user_profile). Do you have any extensions installed?

Kind regards,
Joren

Hello,

I have done some investigation and found out that this problem is connected to firewall Zonealarm, I'm using. If I turn off Zonealarm, the problem doesn't occur anymore. And even after starting Zonealarm again, LibreOffice works fine, till I don't reopen it. On another computer, I have resintalled Windows and the problem doesn't show anymore.

So I don't see a bug anymore for LibreOffice.
