Description earthwormgaz 2012-05-12 06:06:16 UTC
I've been trying to set up HDMI on Fedora. X tries to just work without a config file and autoconfigure screens and things these days, but that fails for me.

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49752

I then wanted to create a manual config to hack about, but ...

Xorg :0 -configure

Number of created screens does not match number of detected devices.
  Configuration failed.
Server terminated with error (2). Closing log file.

All the detail about my setup should be on the other bug report.

Hi,
Is this still an issue? The referred bug, 49752, has been closed. Should this one also be closed?
Comment 2 Chris Wilson 2013-02-28 10:14:41 UTC
Yes, X is still trying to create a Device stanza per detected function, whereas only one of those is valid.
