I don't know is it asked before, but I think it's a good feature to have in LibreOffice. In my work I do allot of copy->paste mostly portions of text with different formatting in various documents and if i want just the text (without the formatting)I have only two options either from the menu edit->paste special or using the shortcut keys witch sometimes is difficult because I have to press three keys simultaneously. So is it going to be too difficult to add feature like in MS office where if you paste a portion of text a little icon is appearing witch is a menu with options like: keep only text, keep source formatting an another one witch I don't remember. Or if it's too difficult to implement such menu is there a chance to add the paste special function in the right click context menu in LibreOffice. *Sorry for the bad English, but it's not my native language

I've just noticed that there is paste special function in the right click menu in Calc, and I wonder why it's not implemented in Writer yet. Is there any particular reason?

And if used, more fast press Ctrl-Shift-V than look for this function in context menu.
When I right click in Writer "Paste Special > Unformatted Text" is an option for me. Looks like that at least partially meets the intent of this bug. LibreOffice version: 5.0.0.5 OS: Linux Mint 17.2

Smart tags[1] is about reformatting existing text, while the Paste Options button[2] is what is being suggested. Would prefer paste special options for source/target/no formatting rather than going the MS way of a post-hoc modification with some weird overlay interaction.
In addition to MSO, OnlyOffice and WPS also have it. I think this is High priority enhancement, expected by many. Of course, user must be able to turn it on or off.
