Description ak 2005-07-22 20:15:26 UTC
Starting somewhere at 6.8.x series fonts in i18n gtk1 apps are displayed
incorrectly when using utf-8 locale and iso10646-1 fontsets.

Eg my locale set to ru_RU.UTF-8, I use fontset="-lfp-uniread
v-medium-r-normal-*-*-80-*-*-p-*-iso10646-1", when I start xmms or any gtk1
program, fonts show up all scrambled.

I heard Suse had a patch that deals with this problem, so I got it and it fixes
the problem on my end. Confirmed by other peple as well.

So here's the diff against nls/XLC_LOCALE/en_US.UTF-8 from current snapshot
(6.8.99.15)

Sorry about the phenomenal bug spam, guys. Adding xorg-team@ to the QA contact so bugs don't get lost in future.

So, is anybody going to fix this bug?
Comment 4 James Cloos 2009-03-12 11:32:49 UTC
This looks like the same issue as bug #15887.

Since 15887 has a proposed patch attached, marking this one as the duplicate.
