Screen goes black (flat panel, DVI-D, PCI card, Fedora xorg 6.8.2) as soon as something is updated on the screen (would probably just produce flickering lines on a CRT).Either moving through menues, moving windows or writing text(!) is enough to cause this problem. This issue was present before 6.8.1 but was not as easily triggered back then. When 6.8.1 came, there was no longer any trace of this problem. Now with 6.8.2 (Fedora release again) the flickering is so frequent it renders the release unusable. I've returned to 6.8.1 waiting for the problem to go away.
I have exectly the same problem with an Intel motherboard D865GLC, with an integrated Intel video card 865, 512 MB RAM and a fully updated Fedora Core 3 (xorg-* 6.8.2-1). Same increase of frequency with time. Screen blanker and DPMS both disactivated. Problem worses displaying lot-of-color images (e.g. "display photo.jpg", or selecting a large resolution jpg background in Gnome). I am desperate, the computer is unusable after a short time. Any idea? Would help an upgrade to Fedora Core 4 beta-test (3.92)? Or should I wait for the FC4 release around June 10?
