Description Miguel Freitas 2010-11-17 15:56:18 UTC

Screenshot of scrolling artifacts.

New installation of opensuse 10.3 works with i3/arrandale out of the box. However, scrolling with either mouse scroll wheel or keyboard produces artifacts on Firefox (not sure if other apps as well).

Screenshot may be seen on attached file.

I have tried upgrading xorg+driver+libdrm to latest versions from:

http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XOrg/openSUSE_11.3/x86_64/

But it didn't fixed it.

I'm attaching Xorg.0.log and dmesg as well.

I see similarly looking corruption in firefox on a Sandy Bridge system too,
with intel 10Q4 xorg drivers.

Yet another screenshot of the issue occurance

Seems like it is not specific to font glyph rendering.
Comment 5 Chris Wilson 2012-07-15 08:33:09 UTC
Certainly comment 4 is fixed now, so I can optimistically presume the earlier bug has also been...
Comment 6 Mehran Kholdi 2012-07-15 09:46:29 UTC
Comment 4 is not completely fixed yet. Although it is harder (but possible) to reproduce in nautilus, it's still easily producible in many other applications. I'll attach a screenshot of Aptana, having the same issue.

You will also need to attach your Xorg.log so that I know if we are talking about the same bug.

Your package is older than my proposed fix. :)
