I'm not so sure how this could be reproduced. I'm mainly running kubuntu hardy with latest updates as of this date. While working, when switching windows or desktops, a window would suddenly move as if part of it was on the current desktop and the other on the left viewport/desktop. It just seems its (0,0) is on the screen's (0,0) but it just appears somewhere else! Yet it takes behavior as if it were correctly placed.

If you look at the snapshots, one shows me stretching a full screen window. I've pointed out where I'm doing the stretching from.

The second snapshot I'm pointing on the close for a misplaced window. You can see that from the tooltip if you look closely. This is really a very terrible bug and I asked my ubuntu hardy friend and he confirmed it also happened. When it does we just have to close the applications and re-open them so the window would map correctly. Imagine having to do that on firefox with all the tabs or on word processors. And imagine having to do that for a new window to get misplaced like that!

I initially disabled the put window plugin but the error would still occur so it must be something else.

Are you still experiencing this?

What sort of setup do you have? Cube or Wall/Expo? Can you give some examples of when this happen and when it doesn't happen? Any specific apps that are more likely to be affected like this? Does it happen regardless of window decorator?
