Description Stefan Dirsch 2004-10-14 01:06:30 UTC
SuSE is getting more and more bug reports, that radeon Dual Head support no
longer works with 6.8.0 (still worked with XFree86 4.4 RC2).

Egbert thinks that the following is the reason for this problem:

"The new driver has some funky heuristics to obtain from the BIOS information
about the 'connectors'. Unfortunately the BIOS only has information on one
connector. The older driver didn't worry about what the BIOS table said. It
went ahead and probed."

Any chance to get back to the old behaviour?

Just for the record (me and Egbert).

I think this bug is the same as Bug# 1559, please read my comments there. I'm
looking at this problem for a better solution now. If you have new failing
cases with different chip type, I'd like to see the log file. Thanks.
