ACK. This change has already been applied to master as part of

commit 3c337e18b933881e22b0d03312511f1d23a8640b

  Thanks for the comment Peter (I think he will not read it :-),
and sorry for not noticing a similar patch was already applied
to git master. Mandriva's cooker left freeze a few days ago and
I got this problem when recompiling the X Server after having
upgraded autotools.

  This patch maybe isn't fully complete in regards to the
multiple autogen.sh's, as now, when compiling git snaphots,
I noticed that it also doesn't know anymore about the option
--enable-maintainer-mode. But it is just a warning.
