Name: dolt Description: Dolt provides a drop-in replacement for libtool that offers significantly decreased build time on the platforms it supports. Rather than the libtool approach of running a large script for every compile that figures out how to build libraries on the platform, dolt figures out these details at configure time and writes out a minimal "doltcompile" script. Initial project members: For now, just me, username "josh". Based on the initial flurry of activity around dolt, and the need to support a wider variety of platforms than any one developer may have access to or experience with, I anticipate adding others from the freedesktop community in the near future. Services needed: git repository, git-backed ikiwiki, mailing list, bugzilla.
repo, buzilla, mailing list done
Thanks for the fast turnaround. The new group "dolt" doesn't seem to have any members; could you please add me to it?
Group membership now resolved, thanks to Eric. That just leaves the ikiwiki. bug 9782 has the details on the setup used for the xcb ikiwiki. In addition to the user setup and wikilist entry mentioned in that bug, /etc/apache2/sites-available/dolt.freedesktop.org should become a copy of /etc/apache2/sites-available/xcb.freedesktop.org with s/xcb/dolt/g everywhere. Given that, I can take care of the rest of the ikiwiki setup. Thanks again.
Also, could you please chown the /git/dolt.git repository on git.freedesktop.org to "josh" rather than "root", so it shows up correctly in gitweb? :)
Hi Josh, Looking around, looks like Eric has set things up for you. Is there anything else your after? benjsc
Yes. I still need the dolt user and sudo setup described in bug 9782. I'd also appreciate the chown mentioned in comment 4.
sudo and chown are done. documenting the process in the SW wiki to ease future setups as well.
