Zhenyu, is this impacted the same as #14591 (it's a bug in 2.2.1 but I don't know if startx will trigger it)?
Comment 3 Wang Zhenyu 2008-03-06 18:10:21 UTC
I don't know (log stops very hard) but good to try with current master.
Comment 4 Wang Zhenyu 2008-03-07 08:27:53 UTC
What's the model of your add2 card?
Comment 5 Cry Regarder 2008-03-07 22:22:21 UTC
Add2 is the one built in to the Optiplex 775. I'll try to dig it up when I'm in the office.
Comment 6 Wang Zhenyu 2008-03-14 00:53:58 UTC
Could you try current master branch which contains crash fix we have seen on several other machines?
Comment 7 Michael Fu 2008-03-20 23:11:47 UTC
ping bug reporter for response for comment# 6...
Comment 8 Michael Fu 2008-03-24 17:43:58 UTC
seems lose connection with the bug reporter. Likely a configuration issue or similar, as this is the only reported case.

I'll reject this bug, please reopen with response to comment# 6. thanks.
Comment 9 Cry Regarder 2008-03-24 18:11:04 UTC
I'll test sooner or later. It is a big deal to do the tests because of all the interdependencies. Basically an afternoon building software and then hoping I can get it back to working state. If ya'll provided daily RPM snapshots it would be much much easier.

Xorg.0.log for 2.2.99 version
Comment 11 Cry Regarder 2008-03-26 15:12:54 UTC
I tried the preview release intel driver and it the problem seems to be
resolved. gdm starts up fine. I will continue testing.

    (II) LoadModule: "intel"

    (II) Loading /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/drivers//intel_drv.so
    (II) Module intel: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
            compiled for 1.4.99.2, module version = 2.2.99
            Module class: X.Org Video Driver
ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 4.0

I am attaching my log file in case it is helpful.
