OS: Fedora 7 x86_64 Kernel: 2.6.23.14-64.fc7 xorg: xorg-x11-server-utils-7.2-1.fc7, xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.3.0.0-16.fc7 Video Driver: fglrx ATI Proprietary Linux Driver-8.452.1 xine + gxine packages: gxine-0.5.11-14.fc7 gxine-mozplugin-0.5.11-14.fc7 xine-plugin-1.0-3.fc7 xine-lib-moles-1.1.10-1.fc7 xine-lib-1.1.10-1.fc7 gxine-mozplugin-0.5.11-5.fc7 xine-plugin-1.0-3.fc7 xine-lib-extras-nonfree-1.1.8-6.lvn9 xine-skins-1.10-1.fc xine-lib-moles-1.1.8-1.fc8 xine-0.99.5-1.fc7 xine-lib-extras-nonfree-1.1.8-6.lvn9 How to reproduce: Run gxine. open an mp3 file. X session dies and login banner appears. Seems to me that even if xine/gxine are buggy, they should NOT kill X session! What's more, I see no error messages in ~/.xsession-errors and no errors in /var/log/xorg.0.log and not related error messages in /var/log/messages.
We cannot accept bugs on fglrx. http://ati.cchtml.com/ may be more useful to you. Additionally, if your chipset is an r5xx or older (pre-HD marketing names) then fglrx simply no longer supports your chipset and you will have to switch to radeon. Closing as INVALID.
