Trying to build current head, autogen runs without error. but make faila with the following error. main.c:508: error: expected expression before ')' token
in dix. Ive tried to buid in Debian Etch and also Debian Lenny, UltraSparc SunBlade 1500.

That main.c bears no resemblance to what's in git, now or ever.  You have things commented out around static int VendorRelease for some reason?
