Description Andrew Muhametshin 2007-12-22 04:56:18 UTC
After updating Xorg-servet up to 1.4.0.90 version, Wine any more does not work
with some programs.
But if to redefine variable "DISPLAY" as a remote X-server (1.4 version) then,
the Wine is started without mistakes.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/ABBYY\ FineReader\ 8.0\ Professional\
Edition/FineReader.exe

Actual Results:
X Error of failed request: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 53 (X_CreatePixmap)
Serial number of failed request: 2180
Current serial number in output stream: 2206

A problem shows up only with the i810 driver (xf86-video-i810-2.2.0 & 2.2.1_pre20080125). With i810 driver the Wine does not work with some windows-programs (for example: with "ABBYY FineReader").

app-emulation/wine-0.9.54
x11-drivers/xf86-video-i810-2.2.1_pre20080125
x11-base/xorg-server-1.4.0.90-r3

If to use the vesa driver, "Wine" works fine.

Andrew, with wine 1.0 and latest xf86-video-intel driver at http://www.intellinuxgraphics.org/download.html, do you still have issue when run your app? Does wine spit out any log? response is appreciated...thanks.

With WINE 1.0, xserver 1.4.2 and intel driver 2.4, We can run some windows app on wine. Please try these new version.
If some windows app can not run, please open separate bug.
