Description Richard Goedeken 2007-12-19 16:40:26 UTC
- System: AOpen MiniPC MP965-DR
 - CPU/RAM: Core 2 duo T7500, 2GB ram
 - OS: Fedora 8
 - X server: xorg 1.4.99.1-0.10.fc9
 - intel_drv.so: built from git checkout 12/09
 - mesa/drm drivers: built from git checkout 12/09
 - system outputs: VGA, TMDS-1, LVDS, TV
 - TV: 32" Sony WEGA, NTSC 480i only

This bug documents an individual problem - several problems were reported at once in #13611, and I am now separating them as requested.

To replicate this bug:
1. Boot MiniPC with only the VGA output connected
2. Any time after X is started, press Ctrl-alt-F1 to switch to text VT

Problem: VGA monitor goes into power saving mode
Expected behavior: should switch to a good text VT mode

Notes:
1. Switching back to graphical VT (#7) will bring X display up correctly (not always, though - see bug #13743)
2. This problem did not occur with the intel driver (v2.1.1) included with the original Fedora 8 installation.

Seems dup with #13196. You could try the attached patch there or wait for it to be fixed in next release.
