When selecting 1024x768 Interlaced mode on the Rage Fury Pro AGP card (Rage 128 Pro) the expected vertical sync rate coming from the analog video connector is incorrect. Should be: 86.9 Hz Is: 43.5 Hz. This doesn't work under xorg 7.1 in Fedora Core 6 and xorg 7.2? in Fedora 7. It worked under xorg 6.8.2 in Fedora Core 4. Not sure about Fedora Core 5.
Created attachment 11127 [details] Trace with debug info for various modes on Rage Fury Pro I enabled R128_DEBUG and compiled the Fedora 7 source rpm for xf86-video-ati-6.6.3, this is the attachment showing the debug output for various modes on the Rage Fury Pro card.
Created attachment 11128 [details] Same trace with a card that works, an Xpert 128 (non pro) For comparison here is the same trace output when running the same driver with an Xpert 128 (Rage 128 non pro) card.
If I add Option "ProgramFPRegs" "0" to the Device section of xorg.conf it works. Forcing the driver to use/not use the flat panel registers this way generates a scary WARNING about such in Xorg.0.log. I am hoping that there will be a better fix other than this workaround.

Is this still a problem?
I'm afraid I can't tell if this problem still exists as I filed this 3 years ago and have since recycled the Ragy Fury Pro card (I no longer have it).
Ok, thanks.
