Description Lukasz Wieczorek 2007-08-08 04:38:52 UTC
After moving from X11R6.9.0 7.2.0 (Slackware 11 -> 12) "Resolution" parameter in xorg.conf file is ignored (still the same hardware: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon RV200 QW [Radeon 7500], Lenovo L109P)- instead of 1280x1024, 1600x1200 is started with virtual desktop. The same happens with ati and radeon driver.

Generated "Modeline" is ignored as well in this case.

To workaround I have to openly declare virtual desktop with "Virtual 1280 1024" directive, which solves problem

Logs and config is would be readily provided if needed.

Happened with 6.6.192 driver. All problems disappear with 6.6.3 version of ati driver.

Do you still have this issue with recent Xorg and xf86-video-ati ?

Closing due to lack of feedback.
