Description patrick rutka 2004-08-18 14:17:42 UTC
PC : AMD 700Mhz, 256 Mo
Graphic card : S3 (S3 driver), Geforce2 (Nvidia driver 6111 with render)
Mutli-head (no xinerama)
Xorg : cvs 17/08

When I use app like Xcompmgr or Uncover Xorg receive a signal 11 after a few
seconde (less than 1 minute) with the Nvdia driver . But all seems work great
with a few glitches with kde 3.2.3. With nv driver all works (with the same
screen gliches as uncover not render the thumbmail ;-(, but that the only
failure).

When I use uncover or xcompmgr on my second screen S3 Xorg caughts too the same
signal but not with nv driver.

Same here
Slack 10, kde 3.3,X server get signal 11 and hard freeze , with nvidia 6111
driver installed, no metter if I enable composite or not or render accell.
The freeze comes when I click over a kicker icon or a desktop icon, i have to
ssh to turn off because keyboard is off and monitor mess up.
The same application clicked launched from k menu works, instead.
Xorg driver nv works well, but we want 3d! ;-)

mass component shift / reassign for proprietary nVidia driver bugs.
Comment 3 Adam Jackson 2005-07-03 14:47:08 UTC
starting with the 6.8.99.14 snapshot, on linux systems, the X server can print
its own backtrace when it crashes. please confirm that these bugs are still
valid with 6.8.99.14 or later, and if they are please attach a the server log
from the crash.

I'm closing this bug due to the lack of activity. If the bug still exists, test
with a current version of xorg and reopen this bug.
