Description Remi Villatel 2005-02-08 07:18:26 UTC
For no reason, without doing anything particular, even without doing anything,
Xorg freezes for a few seconds then restarts as if I pressed
SHIFT-CTRL-BACKSPACE. Sometimes, the screen freezes, the keyboard becomes
unresponsive, networks looks like to keep on working in the background but all I
can do is to use the Reset button.

Most of the time, no error is reported in Xorg.0.log, but only in kdm.log.

Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11. Server aborting

My config:

starting with the 6.8.99.14 snapshot, on linux systems, the X server can print
its own backtrace when it crashes. please confirm that these bugs are still
valid with 6.8.99.14 or later, and if they are please attach a the server log
from the crash.

Well, it's been a long time since I post this bug report. Now I have X.org 6.8.2
final and it behaves as expected. No more freezes or unwanted restarts.
