Why did you set this as a DRI bug? I can't seem to find any provided information that supports this choice.

You can try disabling DRI to verify this:
    Option "DRI" "0"
Comment 6 Seemant Kulleen 2008-11-08 14:12:09 UTC
Hi Renato,

You're correct in that this doesn't seem to be a DRI bug -- and I apologise for not saying that at the outset (I had intended to, but I somehow forgot while doing the cut/pastes etc). I didn't know what the affected component was, so I chose what was closest (in my uninformed mind).
Comment 7 Renato Caldas 2008-11-09 13:27:47 UTC
Xorg seems like a closer match ;)
Comment 8 Renato Caldas 2008-11-20 09:00:50 UTC
This is probably a dupe of bug 15473.

Please say something if proved otherwise.

Reopening the report. Sorry for the noise.
Comment 10 Renato Caldas 2008-12-05 10:42:24 UTC
Please check bug 12166, and mark this as duplicate if applicable. It may be a dri bug after all.. :)
Comment 11 Renato Caldas 2008-12-05 10:43:59 UTC
Sorry, the bug is in another bug tracker.. Here it is:

Comment 12 Peter Hutterer 2008-12-18 02:39:20 UTC
Do you have a xinerama setup?
Comment 13 Seemant Kulleen 2008-12-18 05:32:44 UTC
No Xinerama at all here.
Comment 14 Michal Suchanek 2009-05-04 06:54:37 UTC
You are using EXA acceleration according to the X log.

I get similar results with x server 1.4 on Intel 945G - the machine would lock up, only the mouse pointer moves.

I do not get the MQ messages, though.

XAA used to work in X server 1.4, does it still work for you in 1.5?

You can also try UXA if X server 1.5 already supports that.

You can change the acceleration method by adding something like

Section "Device"
        Identifier "Configured Video Device"
        Option "AccelMethod" "EXA"
EndSection

into your xorg.conf or adding the option into your existing Device section

Attaching register dump of the graphics after lockup.

I am not sure how useful this is but if there is some more stuff to collect I can save it next time the X server locks up.

Mass closure: This bug has been untouched for more than six years, and is not obviously still valid. Please file a new report if you continue to experience issues with a current server.
