It seems you've been gone further than bug#16084. Please attach your Xorg.0.log and xorg.conf. If it's X crash, it would be good to get backtrace. See http://www.intellinuxgraphics.org/how_to_report_bug.html. Created attachment 17548 [details]
xorg.conf
The xorg.conf from my ubuntu 8.04 system.

Xorg.0.log
My Xorg.0.log file... I dunno if I should post it directly after a crash? This file is from now, without a crash, just looked for the file and posted it.

dmesg
Thanks for your answer. I posted the files now - I'm not sure if it would have been better to produce a crash and then post these files? Here's some more information: System environment: -- chipset: G965 -- system architecture: atm i686 - had the same problem with x86_64 -- xf86-video-intel: 2.2.1 - package: 2:2.2.1-1ubuntu13.4 -- xserver: 1.4.1 package: 2:1.4.1~git20080131-1ubuntu9.2 -- mesa: mesa-7.0.3 RC2 -- drm: 2.3.0 -- kernel: 2.6.24-19-generic -- Linux distribution: Ubuntu -- Machine or mobo model: Lenovo ThinkPad R61 Reproducing steps: Start and - if you like - play Warcraft.. just changing several times between gnome and Wacraft and it should freezes the screen soon. There is no garbling, it's just a still picture. Update: It also happens sometimes ingame - not only when I switch between gnome and Warcraft. And just for my information: Does my attachments helped you? Can I do anything else to help you solving this bug? And of course the question: Do you know what it is, will it be fixed in a future release? ;) Hmm - another one which seems to be closely related to my bug #16664 - same symptoms even similar hardware (T61 x R61) the log files are only really interesting after the failure has occurred. I am unable to reproduce this with current Mesa master and DRI2. Are you still seeing this bug? Adjusting severity: crashes & hangs should be marked critical. Closing. I cannot reproduce, and the submitter is MIA. Please open a new bug if additional problems are encountered in this game on the 965 driver. |
