Description Steve Chaplin 2008-06-26 01:00:24 UTC
I received a mail from Daniel Stone saying my freedesktop account has been disabled due to "a vulnerable SSH key", and that I need to get a GPG key associated with my account.

What's the procedure for generating a GPG key, and making it visible on the subkeys.pgp.net keyserver?

Howdy,
You can find details how to generate a GPG key and upload it to the keyserver at:

 http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/AccountRequests

Just remove the NEEDINFO keyword from this bug and let us know when done.

I've followed http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/AccountRequests page.
I found the page confusing to follow:
1. The procedure steps are out of order - it describes "Verify that your GPG
key is visible via subkeys.pgp.net" before it shows you how to create the GPG
key.

2. To verify your key is visable at subkeys.pgp.net you first need to send it
to subkeys.pgp.next, the text is really describing how to send your key, not
how to check that it is visible.

GPG key installed, fingerprint linked to your account. Can you please update your key via email as per: http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/AccountMaintenance
