Description xjldu-libreoffice 2014-02-25 11:26:52 UTC
Problem description:
when you have to change the font size or other in a writer document containing a lot of equations, it is extremely boring since you have to modify each equation, one by one.
I propose an idea to facilitate this modification :
- a new "Formula tab" is created in the style window (F11)
- when editing a "formula style", the usual formula format windows are opened
- the modification is propagated to all the formula in the writer document, with the correct style name.

That means a style name designed each formula.

Thanks for considering this request !

Operating System: All
Version: 4.2.0.4 release

as far as I know OOo/LibO/AOO never had such a feature.

let's set status NEW to this enhancement request and see what the UX-team thinks about it.

The suggested way is currently not possible, because each formula is indeed an autonomous document, which is inserted as OLE object. The graphic style can only work on the shown replacement graphic but not on the formula document itself. In addition, the graphic styles in Writer do not have a property 'font size'.

Major modifications in the code would be necessary to implement such a feature.

Not duplicate, but related issue https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32419

I use Basic macros for this purpose.

Moving the request to extensions. While the idea makes sense it was neither taken into consideration in the format nor applied in Star/Open/LibreOffice. The extension could as for a font size and iterate through the document applying this value to all formulas.
