Created attachment 74818 [details] LO icons, Kubuntu 12.10 LO is using weird program icons that do not match the program’s branding (see screenshot). The icons in the start menu are okay. The screenshot was taken running Kubuntu 12.10 with LO 4.0, but it's no regression. The problem existed 'forever'. I think that the ppa version of LO (https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice) is not affected by this bug. (I once tested it. It's unfortunately lacking KDE support and hence not suitable for me.)

Are you sure it's not just your icon set overriding our branding? This seems very likely in this case. please excuse me if I'm wrong
Yes, I am. The screenshots were taken with a clean installation of the 64bit deb package I downloaded from libreoffice.org, first start without any configuration files. In fact, the icons in the start menu are correct. By the way, it's nothing I tripped over these days. To me it seems like there's a bug in the desktop integration. What I did exactly: 1) Download of the 64bit deb-packages from libreoffice.org (en-us). 2) Purge the default installation of libreoffice: "sudo apt-get purge libreoffice?". 3) Install the packages (including the desktop integration): "sudo dpkg -i *.deb". 4) sudo mv /opt/libreoffice3.6/ure-link/lib/libstdc++.so.6 /opt/libreoffice3.6/ure-link/lib/libstdc++.so.6_bak (otherwise the kde-integration does not work, the icons were the same before).
The icon of the start center is by the way correct.
@Joel: You were so right and I was so wrong. It is indeed the icon set overwriting the branding. But ... long story short: It's still a bug. 22 icons in the oxygen icon theme (LO-ROOT/share/config/images_oxygen.zip) do not use the LO branding as they should imho. Affected are: the images from /res/lx03243.png to /res/lx03255.png and the images from /res/sx03242.png to /res/sx03255.png I replaced these images with those from the default LO theme (Galaxy). That fixes the problem. To fix the bug: Please replace the wrong images of the Oxygen icon theme with those from the default theme (see attachment)!

Astron - any pointers on this one, is this actually our issue?
Yes, this looks like an issue – actually, maybe even two, I know the first one of them should be easy to fix, I have no real idea about the second one: 1. toolbar icons – the icons for that are in [core repo]/icon-themes/oxygen/res The simplest fix would be simply to remove the wrong icons – because the Oxygen theme will fall back to Tango. It would be more elaborate to adapt our branding icons to Oxygen a little bit (gloss, reflection, etc.). 2. titlebar icons – I have no idea where these come from, but hopefully that will be fixed as well with 1. (To see what our chances are there, Nico, could you check the titlebar icons after setting the theme to Tango again, please?)
@Stefan: I think you're right, number 2 will be fixed by number 1. I took some screenshots of the titlebar with all the icon themes available (save "high contrast" which looks fine to me). As you can see, the oxygen icon is correct now. I just replaced the oxygen icons as described in #c5. But as it turns out, the crystal theme has the same defect.
