log file

On Debian unstable with:

xserver 1.6.1
xf86-video-intel 2.7.0
libdrm 2.4.9
linux 2.6.29.1 (with KMS enabled)

I systematically get a black screen on X startup, with everything apparently locked up.

This is on a 945GM (white macbook).

The same setup works fine with linux 2.6.28.7.

Your X log indicates that you don't have a KMS enabled 2D driver. You'll need to fix that before things will work, which means building it against a set of libdrm headers that have the mode setting interfaces.

So I take it you still get a blank screen? Do you have the TV out port connected (the log detects TV at least)?

Yes black screen on startup. I don't have a TV connected, or anything else, only the laptop panel

Might be a dup of 21323
