The summary at the end of the configure script output prints some paths, and some of those are not fully expanded:

    prefix:                        /usr/local
    sysconfdir:                    /etc
    localstatedir:                 /var
    modlibexecdir:                 ${exec_prefix}/lib/pulse-6.0/modules
    System Runtime Path:           /var/run/pulse
    System State Path:             /var/lib/pulse
    System Config Path:            /var/lib/pulse
    Zsh completions directory:     ${datarootdir}/zsh/site-functions

modlibexecdir and the Zsh completion directory are not fully expanded. They should be.
