System Specs:
CPU: Celeron 700
RAM: 256MB
Hp Vectra VL 400
Diamond Viper 550 AGP (nVidia TNT chipset)

I've tried several different things that I can't really explain anymore,
however getting a proper configuration file got me a little further.. My
problem is this, on initial install, whenever Xorg started up, it was for a
brief second, then would report an Agent PID, and state that it was waiting for
the X server to shutdown. A new configuration file using X -configure and now
it starts up and stays running.. but never does anything.. I get a black
background, and a black X pointer.. it's unmovable, and unresponsive.. no cpu
usage is experienced during this time. ctrl+alt+f# switches the screens, server
shuts down with ctrl+alt+bckspc, but no matter how long it sits, it never gets
to a normal desktop or a window manager. Any help?

Sorry about the phenomenal bug spam, guys. Adding xorg-team@ to the QA contact so bugs don't get lost in future.

Please retest with the most recent driver and attach an Xorg.0.log file if it still fails. Please also fix the OS field, as "Windows (All)" can't be right.
