How did you install 4.1 on Ubuntu 12.04? Did you use the PPA or directly from libreoffice.org/download

If you didn't use the PPA I recommend purging your system of libreoffice then installing from PPA. I just tested on a system based on 12.04 and it is fine.

Marking as NEEDINFO - if you did in fact install from PPA mark as UNCONFIRMED and please attach a screenshot. If you install from TDF website (libreoffice.org) go ahead and purge everything libreoffice related and install from official PPA. If you still have the problem please reset your profile (https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile) and test again, if that still has problems mark as UNCONFIRMED and we'll try to figure out what's going on.

Also what is your screen resolution?

Shut libreoffice, renamed .config/libreoffice/4/user to .config/libreoffice/4/user-old

restarted libreoffice, same result.

oh and my screen resolution is 1360 / 768

Getting our Ubuntu pro involved -

Bjoern - I haven't seen this behavior before - thoughts?

OK, purged my libreoffice - reinstalled it using Ubuntu Software Centre ... problem remains. Drat. Did think that would do it ...

Not with you saying you installed through repos :) This solution sometimes works for people installing through libreoffice.org because the packages can conflict but this time you said you installed through regular means (repositories) so I didn't think ti would solve it ;) Thanks for trying though

well uninstalling and reinstalling is one level higher than turning it off and on, and well, that always works! :)

I can confirm the bug on ubuntu 13.04.

But, I did solved it with a workaround found here http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/20971/cropped-window-of-paste-special-in-libreoffice-calc/ by selecting English USA as User Interface language.
Seems to me that the Special Paste component does not like the localisation of the pop-up window. After a bit of experimentation I found that the localised english translations of the UI create the problems, but not the US version. Have not tried some of the other langauges so cannot say if they to carry the bug.

Also cannot decide if this is a localisation bug or a bug in the Special Paste component.

Seems to be fixed in 4.1.1.2

since we don't know what patch fixed it, WFM is correct status. Thanks!
