Description Daniel Stone 2006-03-18 05:45:25 UTC
We should have as few platform tests as possible (only in the server, when we
need to know which kernel we're running on; even then, it's abused to convey the
notion of userspace features). These tests should be replaced by tests for
specific features (endianness, UNIX domain sockets, et al) everywhere they
exist, until we have no more #ifdef CSRG_BASED, #ifdef SVR4, #if !defined(sun)
&& (defined(__amd64__) || defined(powerpc)), or any of that horrendous stuff.

Sorry about the phenomenal bug spam, guys. Adding xorg-team@ to the QA contact so bugs don't get lost in future.

Mass closure: This bug has been untouched for more than six years, and is not
obviously still valid. Please reopen this bug or file a new report if you continue to experience issues with current releases.
