Description Selvan R 2004-04-26 05:14:08 UTC
System: Fedora Core 2 (test 3) on Dell C640 Laptop. I updated my system using
the up2date program (I think that x server was upgraded). When I log into the
Gnome desktop, it gives me the "error activating XKB configuration". Here is the
information requested in the error dialog.

[selvanr@localhost selvanr]$ xprop -root | grep XKB
_XKB_RULES_NAMES_BACKUP(STRING) = "xfree86", "pc105", "us", "", ""
_XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "xfree86", "pc105", "us", "", ""

[selvanr@localhost selvanr]$ gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/xkb
 layouts = [us]
 model = pc105
 overrideSettings = false
 options = []
[selvanr@localhost selvanr]$
Comment 1 Stéphane Loeuillet 2004-05-29 01:00:46 UTC
as it has been reported around 10 times for monolithic 'xorg', replace 'xfree86'
by 'xorg' in your xorg config file

bug #653 is a dupe of this one
see alsa #514, #514 & #544
(and a lot more in 'xorg')
