mkfontscale: Ignore symlinks pointing to files in the same directory

This is a patch we have in openSUSE. As far as I can tell, it was written by Ichiroh Takiguchi <takiguc@jp.ibm.com> and Stefan Dirsch.

Update to use realpath() instead of the GNU-specific canonicalize_file_name()

This seems to conflict with the symlinks-in-mkfontscale patch that Egbert
applied earlier this year:
