Signalling NewChannels with multiple channels is really complicated and no-one really knows what to do with them. It's also not actually that useful. Let's recommend against it.

We could even rename NewChannels to NewChannel ... it's probably not worth it.

(For the record, I'd love to change this to NewChannel and then do HandleChannels, etc. but I've got other stuff to do which is actually more important.)
