While you believe it's a regression, can you confirm that it is a regression in the *server* not some driver issues? Also, what versions (video drivers and server) were you using when it worked and when it failed? Created attachment 55099 [details]

Here's an old Xorg log I found lying around on my system. I'm not sure if it corresponds, but looking at the kernel version there is a high probability it does.
