Should be fixed in git master by

cc'ing patch author & 1.10 branch maintainer so they can discuss if
that should be backported to the 1.10 branch.

1.10.2 is being released this Friday.  Post RC2, I only accept "very obvious" crash fixes and regressions.

I think this does meet criteria for 1.10-branch, so I intend to merge it in immediately after 1.10.2 is released.  If you have a compelling reason that this should be in 1.10.2 rather than 1.10.3, please speak up.  I'm sure many distros affected by this issue will pick up the patch for their packages.
