Description Simos Xenitellis 2010-07-01 13:40:50 UTC
(Per Bug #11908)

Since the laptop division by IBM has been bought by Lenovo, is it possible to create either an 'alias' or a new section for Lenovo as a vendor?
Lenovo still produces the Thinkpad line, along with the 'Lenovo' economy laptop line.

Currently, in the keyboard settings in GNOME, only IBM as a vendor is available.

This relates to bug #11908 for brazilian users.

I can duplicate all IBM entries in base.xml - or, simpler, can change the vendor name to IBM/Lenovo or Lenovo(IBM) or whatever... What would be legally correct and most comfortable for users?

I must say I am not sure which would be the best.
I could suggest something like 'Lenovo (previously IBM)'.
