log of X session, no output on LVDS

After upgrade to Ubuntu Lucid, intel video driver stopped to work. HW is:

00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device (rev 02)

In brief, DRI fails to initialize, driver is not able to allocate memory, there is some confusion with pipe A and pipe B, and finally there are underruns on pipe B. Looks like something is seriously broken.

Since i810 has been removed from the distribution, there is not way to fail-back, other then using vesa (which is deployed right now).

Are you sure this is actual Lucid? The log says the driver version is very old: xf86-video-intel 2.4.1, kernel 2.6.27.

pretty sure - it happened right after upgrade from Karmic to Lucid; it was working fine in Karmic apparently.

Now I more inclined to consider it some Ubuntu mess-up - F13 beta live cd was started up fine. Will investigate further as time permits.

Sounds like the cause was an old kernel...
