XORGOLD

using the 2:1.8.0+git20100422+server-1.8-branch.5455df65 version of xorg. i get random crashes.

GDM does not display, startx works but eventually crashes, cannot get back to console terminals.

also tracked on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/571447

see there for some attached files including lspci dmesg etc.

uploading the XorgLogOld file here however. not sure how to diagnose this, will
be happy to test in whatever way you guys suggest.

Hmm, that logfile didn't contain the crash. Obviously finding the right Xorg.log or gdm.log would be a vital first step. Also the output of dmesg and /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/i915_error_state following a crash would be useful.

http://intellinuxgraphics.org/how_to_report_bug.html has the information on how to gather the various details.

Stale bug report with no details of the crash, hang or whatever.
