This is exactly the same problem as in bug #21767, but this time with KMS enabled.

KMS patch

This should make kms work. Patch is against Dave's drm-radeon-testing branch, but should apply pretty easily to most recent kernel trees.  Let me know how it goes and I'll push it upstream.

Wow, that was fast :-) I will try it with 2.6.32-rc7 which I'm running currently.

Great job. Huge thanks!

The kernel boot stated using both screens, the LVDS runs in it's native 1280x800, the LCD (DVI) runs on 1280x1024 with blank space at bottom. This is also great about KMS :-)

Excellent.  I've sent the patch to Dave.  Also, I noticed your system lists the DVI-D port as DVI-I.  This patch should fix that.  I'll send it upstream as well.
