xorg log file

Due to new xorg-server-1.5.3-r5 I have emerged xf86-video-mach64-6.8.0 since
xf86-video-ati no longer applies. I can boot okay and log on okay for a while.
Then screen goes black. I can get to console via Alt-Ctrl-F1.
I have renamed my previous xorg.conf to xorg.conf.old and let the system
determine settings. I have also emerged xorg-server and xorg-x11 with "-hal" USE flag for now.
I am using gentoo-2.6.28-r5.

Is this still a problem? Providing a patch is the best way to get it fixed.

Thanks for your suggestion. I ended up buying a new computer and changed to ubuntu and so bug not reproducible.
