Bug detailed description:

startx, run "chvt 1" to switch to the text console , then we can not bring back to X. when run "chvt 7", it still stays at the console. and X seems like hanging.
we fail to kill it using "pkill -9 X", the only thing we can do is to reboot.and dmesg shows nothing wrong. I think it is a regression, it worked before 1 weeks.

Works for me with bits from today; can you try again?  And capture the dmesg along with a backtrace of X after you try to switch back?
