Description Sam Mason 2009-02-23 18:44:52 UTC
Hi,

I reported this to the Ubuntu bug tracker and was recommended to forward the issue on here. More detailed information is available at the following link, but I'll summarise below:

  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/329235

I added:
  Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"
to /etc/X11/xorg.conf as per
  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/UxaTesting
ran
  X :2

My graphics card appears as:

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation 82G965 Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:29a2] (rev 02)

Xorg appears to be honouring my request for UXA and the Xlog is available on Ubuntu's "launchpad" site. I can repost it here if that's easier.

Thanks

  Sam

Your information needs to be attached to this bug.

If you tried to start the new server with UXA from an existing X Server to test, without KMS support, then you wouldn't get DRI and failure would occur. Does it also fail when it's the only active server?

No response from submitter, running old driver with many UXA bugs that could cause these sorts of issues. Original downstream bug was closed as well.
