Screen corruption occurs from time to time (frequently enough to annoy).

It disapears on screen refresh, so it is not possible to make a screenshot.

Horizontal features (junk) appear when scrolling a window containing text.
Sometimes, a whole line of text is unreadable (letters appear as rectangles).
This (and possibly other corruption) happens particularly often when using NX
client (from Nomachine).

The motherboard is an Asrock.

Switching to XAA cures the problem.

I reported the bug to the OpenSUSE vendor, but they recommended filing a bug here. The original report is:

Can you reproduce the problem with a 2.6.30 kernel and 2D driver 2.7.99.902 or newer?  My 865 and 855 are happy at this point with the latest fixes (just one hang fixed post-2.7.99.902)

I am no longer in possession of the machine. Moreover, I have no time for compiling kernels and drivers. I do not find it funny to combat bugs in software. I need a computer that just works.

Thanks for reporting the original bug. Since you are not in a position to
test the latest code, and since Eric's testing suggests that things are
working, I'm closing this bug report now.

Feel free to reopen it in the future if you find yourself experiencing the
same problem.
