Description Parthiban  Balasubramanian  2009-01-19 13:02:15 UTC
I've noticed this bug for a long time and it's very consistent too. While running Compiz, whenever the screen resumes from a Screensaver/Locked-screen/Suspend, Window Overlay Icons (Emblems) are garbled/corrupt. These icons are displayed on the bottom right of window thumbnails in Window Switchers, Scale, etc. Also, sometimes one of the wallpapers disappears (rendered black) on one or more viewports (of my 3D Cube).

These issues aren't present while using Metacity, however. I first reported this bug with Compiz-Fusion (http://forum.compiz-fusion.org/showthread.php?mode=hybrid&t=10723) and was redirected here saying it was a driver issue.

This being my first bug here, I'll be glad to provide any additional info.

Thanks.

Can you try a more recent driver version (including a Mesa update)? There have been many fixes to both drivers since 2.4.1 of the 2D driver was released...

Hi....I would like to test with the newer intel driver. How would I go about updating the driver? (bit of a noob here!) Will the kernel need to be recompiled? I don't have any experience compiling a kernel.
