Please provide the info according to http://www.intellinuxgraphics.org/how_to_report_bug.html Has this ever worked before with the older intel driver? Requested config info should already be contained in attachment. This did definitely work without crashes at some point in the past, I'd say about 2-3 months ago. I should add that I normally run compiz and switch back to metacity to run VisIt. Using pure metacity seems to decrease the likelihood of these crashes. I'm afraid this is not high on developers' priority list since it's only triggered by Visit. But if you could find the specific commit causing the regression, that'll be a big help. Well, it's still an X server crash--and I can't imagine that no other application is hurt by it. Are you able to get the crash backtrace? (There's a howto link in http://www.intellinuxgraphics.org/how_to_report_bug.html) Does this still exist now, or are you using newer driver? Appears fixed in 2.5. I'll reopen if it persists. |
