The Akonadi project is currently being worked on by a group of kde developers with the aim of working further with EDS (evolution-data-services) developers to create a core, cross desktops (and cli) user data service which will provide system users with address books, calendars, journals, notes etc.

In order to make the project more open and central a f.d.o project would be the best home for the project.

  Do you have a list of developers willing to work on this project? Also what resources would you be after?

The projects developers couldn't decide how to organise, please close this ticket. They may not need any further assistance since they're going the kde only route.
